A day in the life of Whare Tamariki
At Whare Tamariki, every day is an adventure!
Our tamariki start the morning by exploring a variety of activities designed to spark their creativity and curiosity. After a warm welcome, the children gather to prepare their own morning tea, fostering independence and a sense of responsibility. Once refueled, it’s time for exploration! We often embark on hikois through town, where our little ones engage with the community, learning about their surroundings and the importance of social connections.
Back at the centre, the sandpit becomes a bustling hub of imagination, while arts and crafts provide a canvas for self-expression. A highlight of the week is our 4-year-old mat time, where children dive into literacy and numeracy through interactive games and storytelling. This helps prepare them for the transition to school, building essential skills in a fun environment. Once a week, we visit Te Aroha Primary School for Ready Set Go and PMP sessions, allowing our tamariki to gain confidence in a school setting.
At Whare Tamariki, every day is filled with laughter, learning, and new discoveries, creating a vibrant community where children can thrive! Every day is always a fun day in Whare tamariki at Best-Start Te Aroha.
