In 1996 Wayne and Chloe Wright opened our first early-childhood centre in Tauranga, employing four staff. Wayne and Chloe aren’t people to do things by halves, and today BestStart has grown into New Zealand’s largest provider of early childhood education.
We are a New Zealand-owned charity with preschools, kindergarten (kindy), Montessori and early-childhood home-based services nationwide.
BestStart has over 260 early childhood centres from Whangarei to Invercargill. All our centres use the New Zealand curriculum Te Whāriki, preparing children for their formal education at school. Our trained teachers support children to belong, thrive and achieve through the world-recognised philosophy of learning through play.
