BestStart Dilworth Avenue’s Set for School Programme
At BestStart Dilworth Avenue, we offer a holistic Set for School programme for our tamariki in their final year with us. This programme focuses on three key areas of learning: physical wellbeing, spiritual wellbeing, and cognitive wellbeing. These areas are further divided into subsections, including motor skills, social and emotional skills, learner confidence, early literacy, early mathematics, and curiosity and creativity through art, science, and technology.
As kaiako (teachers), our role is to understand each child and support them in these learning areas in a way that best suits their individual needs. We work closely in partnership with whānau (families) to develop individual learning plans that foster each child’s growth through play. These plans link to both Te Whāriki (2017), New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum, and the New Zealand Curriculum for primary school, ensuring tamariki are on the right path for a smooth transition to school.
We recognise that the early years are crucial, as they lay the foundation for all future learning. We are passionate about delivering a quality programme where each child's uniqueness is celebrated.
