BestStart Vivian Plunket Appeal 2024
During the week of March 18th to March 22nd, 2024, BestStart Vivian Street enthusiastically joined numerous other BestStart Childhood Centres in commemorating Plunket Week. Plunket stands as a national organization, serving as New Zealand's largest provider of support services for the health and well-being of tamariki and families. To honor this occasion, our kaiako curated a delightful array of planned activities and events, all inspired by the color blue, to show our solidarity with Plunket's mission.
Throughout the week, our tamariki eagerly participated in a variety of blue-themed activities. We kicked off the festivities with a lively blue dress-up day, followed by a cozy pizza and movie session. Our creative endeavors included engaging in exciting blue art activities and hosting a bake sale where tamariki lent a hand to our kaiako in crafting delectable treats. Of course, no celebration would be complete without the joy of blue playdough and paint!
On the evening of March 22nd, the culminating day of Plunket Week, we extended a warm invitation to our families for a center BBQ and disco extravaganza. The atmosphere was electric with dancing, glow sticks, and an abundance of delicious kai for all to savor. The proceeds from this memorable week, along with the proceeds from the lively evening event, were dedicated to supporting Plunket's invaluable work in our community.
We're immensely grateful for the overwhelming generosity shown by our parents and whānau. Together, as a center, BestStart Vivian Street raised an incredible $272 to aid Plunket in their vital endeavors. Thank you to all who contributed to making this week of celebration and support such a resounding success!
