The Pīwakawaka room (nursery for children ages 0-2), went for a morning hikoi (walk) to our local community garden. We love getting out and about in our community as it allows the tamariki (children) to learn through exploring their environment and we thought this was a perfect spot for a picnic. .

There was so much to see on our walk and the tamariki (children) were super excited. Once we arrived, we set up our picnic spot and enjoyed some yummy kai (food). Once we were finished, the tamariki (children) were free to explore the space and sure enough, they quickly found the swing set. We had a look at all the different fruits and veggies that were growing. 

This was such a fun trip and all the tamariki (children) were tired after a morning of exploring.
