Delight & Inspire at BestStart Whangaparaoa
At BestStart Whangaparaoa we have recently been focusing on ways to ‘Delight and Inspire’ our Parents and Whanau, and how we can strengthen these connections outside of the Classroom. Using feedback from our daily conversations and Parent feedback surveys, we have found that our Whanau really enjoy center-based events, and the opportunity it gives them to connect with other families and Kaiako, outside of the busy drop-off and pick-up times.
Father’s Day was the perfect opportunity for such an event, with our Centre Manager and cook arriving early to ensure there was a beautifully cooked breakfast and coffee for even the earliest of arrivals. It was great to see not only the dads but also extended families coming in and sitting down to enjoy a meal together, and wonderful to witness the connections being made and strengthened during this special, unhurried time.
There were many words of appreciation given and smiles all around as even those Parents in a rush were able to take their breakfast and coffee on the go. We look forward to hosting many more Centre-based events coming into the Summer months, while also thinking of new ways to further delight and Inspire our new and existing Whanau.
