Eco Fest celebration at BestStart Stoddard Road
The Eco Fest celebration at BestStart Stoddard was a vibrant and engaging event that highlighted the importance of caring for our Papatuanuku. Throughout the week, children participated in a variety of fun and educational activities designed to instill environmental awareness and responsibility.
1. Caring for Earth:
Children learned about the significance of taking care of the environment, understanding the crucial role we all play in protecting it.
2. Cleaning Up:
Children took part in a cleanup activity, where they collected litter around the centre. This hands-on experience taught them the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and tidy.
3. Planting Seeds:
We also had Poppa (Paul), as we all call him, who helped us clear all the weeds and prepare the soil for planting. The children enjoyed planting seeds in containers and planters, learning about the growth process and the role plants play in our ecosystem. They each took home their own potted plants to nurture as a reminder of the day.
4. Trash to Fashion:
In a creative twist, children and teachers transformed recyclable materials into fashionable outfits. This activity encouraged them to think creatively about reusing items and showcased the potential of materials that would otherwise be discarded.
Overall, the Eco Fest celebration was a resounding success, providing children with memorable experiences and valuable lessons about sustainability. Everyone left feeling inspired and committed to making a positive impact on Mother Earth!
