EID Celebrations at estStart Stoddard Rd
Eid is a significant religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan - Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims, and it includes a long period of fasting where people will not eat or drink between dawn and sunset.
Eid celebrations provide a unique opportunity for children to learn about different cultures and traditions, promoting cultural awareness and understanding. Through engaging activities and experiences, children can develop empathy, respect, and a sense of unity with their peers from diverse backgrounds.
Here at BestStart Stoddard, we celebrate Eid by learning about traditions and customs, where children can develop a sense of empathy and respect for others. Children and teachers wore their beautiful cultural outfits and traditional food was cooked by our chef - Hina. We had heena (tattoo) drawn on children's hands, where children were aware of keeping it still for at least 15 mins.
This cultural event helped foster positive relationships between parents, teachers, and the community. By involving parents in the planning and organization of Eid celebrations, we created a sense of partnership and collaboration that benefits the overall learning and development of children.
It provided a sense of inclusivity and belonging for Muslim children and allowed them to feel proud of their cultural heritage and traditions while also educating their peers about the significance of Eid.
