Every moment is a canvas for learning and among the myriad experiences shaping young minds, exploring musical instruments holds a special place.
For our youngest learners here at BestStart Kaikorai Valley Road, their journey into the world of sound is not just about creating melodies, it's a rich tapestry of sensory exploration, cognitive development, and social development. Our infants have taken an interest in music lately, and our kaiako have been supporting them as they dive into the harmonious realm where their tiny hands have met musical instruments.
From the gently tinkling of bells to the rhythmic tapping of drums, our tamariki have been exploring a symphony of sensory experiences. The textures, shapes, and sounds of each instrument provide valuable sensory stimulation, awakening their senses and igniting their curiosity.
Our Pitau classroom band has had a wonderful time as they grasp, shake, and explore these instruments; developing, practicing, and refining their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and exploring the joyful collaboration of cause and effect. We can't wait to see where our youngest learners go next on their beautiful journey of discovery through music; nurturing and expanding their young minds through the power of music.
