Farewell our Graduates!
The end of January saw us farewell a number of our tamariki who were heading off to various local schools for the new term of the new year.
We spoke often to the tamariki in the lead-up to their last day, delving into different memories of their time at BestStart Bader and chatting about where they were going and what they may experience moving forward. We also prepared their younger siblings (for those that had them) for this special time too, so that the transition would be successful for all our tamariki. On their last day, we had a wonderful celebration alongside their whānau at Preschool, where we were able to recognize and acknowledge each child’s uniqueness and successes over their time at the centre.
We presented each child with a certificate and framed photo, of them dressed in the korowai, which they were able to take home to cherish. We also sang some favorite songs, and had a special delicious kai all together as one. We wish our new BestStart Bader St new graduates all the best for the next step in their learning journey. ‘Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu” - Adorn this bird with feathers to enable it to fly.
