Getting out in our Community
At Beststart Glenfield we are continuing to build our connections to our local community through excursions. We love getting out in our community and exploring. We were recently invited to Manuka Primary School to watch the very first performance of their production.
This was an amazing opportunity to get involved with our local community and support the children of Manuka primary, many of the children attended BestStart Glenfield too, so it was wonderful to see our old friends. The children were amazed by the different dances, music, costumes, and props, and gave the children a big applause after each performance. It was a great opportunity for the children to visit the primary school and to support conversations about going to primary school, music, and dance after the production.
We also enjoy walks to our local playground at Elliot Reserve, where the children can explore new experiences, increase their understanding of the world around them, and feel part of the community they live in. Other learning on our walks includes road safety, and waiting for the green man at the traffic lights before looking both ways and crossing the road. We always hold a friend's hand too, reminding our tamariki to be safe on and around our roads.
At BestStart Glenfield we love having a great connection with our community through our excursions.
