Introducing our Amazing Cook Nana!
Tēna koutou, We would love to take this opportunity to introduce our wonderful centre cook Nana. Nana is originally from Japan and she speaks fluent Japanese (her home tongue) and English. She found herself her to stay when she met her kiwi partner over 12 years ago and 12 years later Christchurch is very much home to them both and their two young boys.
Having originally studied humanities, something Nana is very passionate about and cares deeply for, is that tamariki have the opportunity to experience their dual cultural heritages and this is something that she and her partner endeavors to do for their two boys, wanting them to experience both of their cultural heritages. That makes for a very busy household at the weekends!
As she and partner support their two boys in attending Japanese school for weekend sessions enabling them to stay connected to their Japanese roots. Nana has been working with our company BestStart for over 4 years and has been our centre cook now for just over a year and a half. In that time Nana has been working hard to achieve our first healthy heart award and this week we have celebrated that achievement gaining our Te Rito award.
So this is a BIG SHOUT OUT to Nana – Thank you so much for all your mahi – We love your work, we adore the magic that comes out of your kitchen everyday (as do the tamariki!) and I know that you are already working toward and preparing for the next level of healthy Heart, amazing!
