It's just like going to the beach!
We are thrilled to announce the vibrant transformation at our beloved centre as we welcome the new teaching team and a new centre manager to the Waikanae family. We bid farewell to the told and welcome the new as we unveil a haven for imagination and creativity!
One of the last big projects and after careful planning and hard work we have just completed the revitalisation of our treasured sandpit. A big thank you to Fast Grass Landscaping for providing endless questions, conversations and endless imagination as many of our children now want to be digger drivers - how fabulous!
The tamariki have enjoyed witnessing the process involved in this transformation and were sad when the digger was loaded onto the trailer and taken away. With a fresh load of sand there are endless possibilities as we look forward to watching all of the amazing creations. Many of the children said the sand was just like when they go to the beach and how easy it is to make sandcastles now. The sandpit is now a hive of activity and so much learning is evident.
Tamariki enjoy working together with others in the sandspit on a shared project which develops interactive social skills which are very important.
