Living our Vision
Kia Ora, Here at Best start Tawa South, we work in partnership with our tamariki which means we teachers and tamariki are the kaitiaki of our environment. We work together towards achieving our goals, hence we learn alongside our peers, we tidy up together and we celebrate our successes together too.
When we make mistakes, we don't give up, but we stand tall and start again, with unity, motivation we try and succeed too. Best start tawa South has been engaging with celebrating many different festivals and learning a lot about the diverse cultures in our room. The room has a mixed range of ages in terms of our tamariki and our current programme planning is around learning through our senses.
The teaching team are dedicated towards making sure that there is an array of activities planned out each day to support the mixed age group that caters to the 16 areas of play. We also have our local librarian visiting us on a monthly basis and we look forward to support the localised curriculum by inviting more local whanau to engage and involve in our day to day learning environment.
The recent festivals that we celebrated were Chinese new year, Waitangi day and festival of colours, Holi. We are continuously on a journey where we can gain more. knowledge about respecting each others cultures . Nga mihi,
