At Beststart Greenwood Street, we believe in having strong partnerships with our whānau. This is reflected in our annual strategic plan as ‘Delight and Inspire’- our whānau relationships are woven through documentation, planning, and assessment by culture and our whānau aspirations and conversations.

We believe that a genuine partnership has the potential to positively influence children into their adult life. In our effort to ‘Delight and Inspire’ our whānau, we organize events on a regular basis. One such whānau event was Mums and Bubs- Stay and Play for term three. Mums and Bubs' play days were for those mums with little babies not attending daycare yet.

The stay-and-play days gave our mums and bubs an opportunity to take a break from their usual norm and socialize with others. The bubs got a chance to experience new surroundings and play alongside other babies.

Mums got the opportunity to relax, have a cuppa, and socialize with other mums and Kaiako. Some of the mums used this opportunity to spend some time with their older children in the toddler or preschool room much to their delight. It was a wonderful experience for mums, bubs, and Kaiako.
