Our Enchanting Nest
We are so incredibly proud of our pēpē nest area here at BestStart Silverstream. This special environment is for our most precious and vulnerable learners and is a home away from home. It is a warm, inviting, calm and engaging area for care moments with primary caregivers, learning, exploring, relaxation, comfort and encouraging and empowering infants through RIE (respectful care) and freedom of movement philosophies that shape our learning environment.
This space is toddler-free, providing a safe and secure environment for our youngest movers to practice their newly found physical development skills. Everything is specifically for them to cater to their age stage of development. Our newly decorated pēpē nest features soft, pastel-colored walls, beautifully lush floor mats, a unique rocking chair, waterfall fairy lights, dimmed lighting, strategically placed furniture, and natural resources to support a soothing atmosphere that empowers pēpē to explore and build on their cognitive development.
We also have a beautifully crafted rocking feeding chair for ease of feeding your baby, and for mothers who would like a quiet, calm breastfeeding option. We have received fantastic feedback from whānau who comment on how homely and inviting this space is. One parent even said she “would love to curl up and sleep in there” and “as soon as I walk in the room I feel a pull to this inviting space”.
