Our Pēpi
Here at BestStart Paraparaumu the Kaiako in our pepi room believe in building strong foundations with family and whānau to support the tamariki to truly build a sense of belonging with us and the centre environment and in all aspects of their daily life.
Through nurturing these interactions and truly listening to our whānau and supporting their aspirations for their pēpi Kaiako can authentically build strong relationships getting to know the tamariki culture, language and identity and to be able to extend their learning in a meaningful way.
Kaiako believe that once these connections are built with whānau it helps pēpi to gain a greater trust with us, and once this is achieved it supports them to have the confidence to explore, discover and learn all about the world around them in a safe, rich and caring environment, laying the foundations for a Passion for learning, Passion for life, which will carry through with them all through their centre life and beyond.
We love the way here at BestStart we are on our localized curriculum journey which supports taking our pēpi out and about into the local community to enhance their knowledge about not only their own culture but also others around them.
