Our Re-Opening!
Following unprecedented heavy rain in September, our centre flooded and we unfortunately had to close for 3 months while a massive clear-up and renovations took place. We temporarily relocated to Shotover Primary School, who had a spare classroom space we could use. We moved back into our ‘proper’ centre just in time for Christmas and we are delighted to be back!
Our centre environment looks amazing, with newly painted walls, new carpets, furniture, resources and even a new playground space! The tamariki are so happy to be back in their centre and are particularly enjoying rediscovering our large outdoor play area! With this lovely summer weather, what a perfect opportunity to make the most of being outside and enjoying physically active play such as running, throwing balls, riding bikes on our bike track, doing obstacle courses, as well as water play and getting stuck into the sandpit!
We encourage our tamariki to be independent explorers and adventurers, using their senses to explore their environment. While exploring, our children are kaitiaki – guardians of the environment and they are encouraged respect and care for the plants and trees in our beautiful space. We welcome you to come and visit our centre!
