Our toddlers love to explore!
The most important thing toddlers like to do is play! Play is an essential strategy for learning. Through play, they are learning decision-making, self-choice, ownership of their experiences, and how to become agents of their own playful learning journeys. Children also express imagination, curiosity, and creativity through their play.
They are learning and discovering the world around them. At BestStart Avondale, teachers provide a variety of activities that stimulate imaginative play and discovery. Children learn about the world through their experiences, relationships and many other activities. They also like to talk, listen and imitate those around them.
At BestStart Avondale, our toddlers are encouraged to talk to each other and are supported to communicate their feelings and ideas. Through this, our toddlers are recognising if someone is sad and then asking if they are ok, which allows them to make new friends and learn how to use words to express themselves.
These skills help children gain confidence, resolve conflicts, make appropriate decisions, and develop friendships. Our centre is enriched with cultural diversity with tamariki from all around the globe, and each individual child is supported to reach their full potential.
