Our trip to the local beach
Exploring our local beach has become a cherished weekly ritual. Along the way, we reinforce road safety practices, take in the charm of nearby shops, and stay connected with our vibrant community.
Once we reach the beach, it's the tamariki's ideas that take the lead, guiding their own learning experiences, and making each trip a unique adventure. We're busy collecting treasures like shells, seaweed, and sticks, all to be put to creative use back at the centre.
With boundless curiosity, we explore the beach, attuned to any changes and exciting play possibilities. Our tinana (bodies) are in full action - running, jumping, climbing logs, rolling in the sand, and digging. The rhythmic crash of waves soothes our wairua (spirit), grounding us in the moment. Above all, our aim is to simply revel in the joy and laughter of the experience."
