This week the tamariki enjoyed many hands on experiences to learn, explore, refine and extend their skills in play and in routines. We have been offering experiences involving: Art and painting: using rollers and sponges.
The opportunity to practice fine and gross motor skills. Exploring strategies such as problem solving, improvising and self confidence skills by being proud to show and discuss their creations with friends and Kaiako.
- Guinea pig care: nurturing and supporting the tamariki to care for animals and their environment. Through cleaning and taking turns to bath our wee friends Twinkle and Sprinkle.
- Dancing: a chance for tamariki to explore and refine physical skills, explore relationships and social competence.
- Block and Lego building: opportunity to explore numeracy through counting and patterns. Also a great opportunity to practice problem solving and building resilience through dealing with challenges and conflicts.
- Story telling and imaginative play: providing tamariki to enjoy, contribute and take charge of their own learning. Strategies used and expanded on are social and emotional competence, resilience, dealing with conflicts effectively, express and share ideas and relationship building.
We hope you all have a great weekend
