Set for School
Here at BestStart Barrington we pride ourselves on giving our tamariki the life tools they need to thrive and grow. Our Pūtangitangi Rūma is dedicated to our four to five year old tamariki with a curriculum focused on supporting emotional self regulation, self reliance and an experience of curriculum based subjects they will be enjoying at school, these include science, maths and literacy all provided through a fun and challenging play based learning program.
We provide and strong program based on emotional resilience and teaching the tamariki how to effectively regulate their emotions through breath works and yoga. Additionally the language we use in the room is very supportive of emotional regulation and teaching the children they have ownership of their own bodies and emotions. This is a fantastic tool they can take with them on to school and into adulthood.
The Pūtangitangi Rūma teachers are highly motivated to support the tamariki and their whānau to feel confident and prepared when the big step to school happens. We include regular school visits to local schools so the tamariki can see what a school classroom looks like and we help our parents with questions they may have for their child's next step.
