Teddy Bear Picnic at BestStart Albany
What a "Beary" special day we had with our Tamariki, Whanāu, and their cuddly little Teddy Bears. We began the day by playing some parachute games with our furry friends. It was fun to watch them bounce up and down on the parachute. We hid them underneath the parachute and played some peek-a-boo. We even crawled underneath with them too. Mums and Dads helped us make a teddy out of material, pom poms, and stuffing. It was fun to make a special teddy to take home.
After that, we made special Teddy cookies by putting a teddy biscuit on a cracker and covering them with a blanket made of icing sugar and sprinkles. It was very yummy! Our Kaiako told us there were more teddy bears hiding on the playground. We decided to go on a bear hunt to find them. They were hidden on the jungle gym, sandpit, and even under tables and chairs. There were bubbles everywhere while we were looking for them. It was so much fun!
All that hunting made us very hungry so we decided to grab our teddies and relax outside for a lovely picnic lunch consisting of Teddy cookies, mini sandwiches, fruit, tarts, and some berry tea. "The little teddy bears were having a lovely time today"!
