With Anzac Day just around the corner today was the day to try and make the traditional ANZAC biscuits. These are similar to the ones made in New Zealand and Australia and sent to the troops overseas, the recipe was made with travel and length of time needed to deliver them by boat overseas to our troops.

Today we all took turns measuring out the ingredients and mixing them together, this took a lot of patience as so many tamariki wanted to have a turn. When the turn came there was the hand eye coordination to fill up cups or spoons and tip the ingredients carefully into the mix. This afternoon the rewards of our efforts will be the tasting and eating at kai time.

If you wish to try these, here's the recipe we followed https://www.chelsea.co.nz/browse-recipes/anzac-bisc/
