Wetlands Hikoi
Last week the tamariki went our hikoi walk to the wetlands in the morning. We hopped on the bus to get to the wetlands entrance and started our adventure. There was so much different wild life to see in their natural environment. We saw some pukeko and a baby pukeko, geese, 2x pīwakawaka and ducks! It was a great learning experience for the tamariki to see the birds their classrooms are names after in the wild.
We walked to education shelter that had lots of information about the wild life as well as viewing windows to see the pukeko and duck in the water. We stopped here for some kai before walking back to the bus stop. The tamariki did some great walking and were all very tired afterwards.
