Whānaungatanga in the matai room
In the Matai room, our group planning has been around fostering whānaungatanga, nurturing a sense of belonging and connection among tamariki. This foundation has been essential as our tamariki transition from the Matai room to the Rimu room, allowing them to carry their sense of security and relationships with them.
Through carefully planned transitions, we ensure that tamariki feel supported, encouraging them to explore new environments with confidence. Celebrations play a bug role in our whanaungatanga approach, offering tamariki opportunities to connect with their peers and kaiako, as well as with their wider community. These celebrations, whether big or small, are moments where shared joy and collective experiences strengthen bonds.
Creativity and problem-solving are encouraged daily, with tamariki engaging in activities that challenge their thinking and allow for imaginative exploration. These experiences not only foster cognitive development but also build resilience and collaboration, as tamariki learn to navigate challenges together. Whether through art, building, or imaginative play, tamariki are supported in expressing themselves and working through problems, further enhancing their sense of belonging and connection within the Matai room.
